About the Role

This role is intentionally designed as a stretch role, emphasizing the candidate's ability to quickly grasp complex concepts, take ownership, and grow with the company. The individual will develop a deep understanding of a modern energy provider's financial and operational functions, acting as a strategic partner rather than a traditional controller.

Responsibilities

• Take progressive ownership of financial, reporting, and liquidity processes, including cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
• Act as a business partner to sales and operations, supporting the financial evaluation of new products and providing rapid, data-driven insights for ad-hoc requests.
• Analyze data flows, maintain a holistic view, and reduce manual dependencies through targeted automation.
• Translate complex financial concepts into understandable insights, serving as a key contact for management and external partners like tax advisors.

Requirements

• Must reside in the greater Berlin area for intensive on-site training.
• Fluent German and English (C1/C2 level) in speaking and writing.
• 4-10+ years of experience in Finance, Management Accounting, Controlling, or Financial Planning & Analysis.
• Experience in the energy sector or an agile startup/scale-up environment is a plus.
• Expert-level proficiency in Excel.
• Strong affinity for modern system landscapes and a quick understanding of complex data flows.
• A proactive, hands-on mentality with a solution-oriented approach to a broad range of tasks within a small team.
