About the Role
As a Field Service Engineer / Mechatronics and Vehicle Electrician (m/f/d), you ensure vehicle availability for our customers and maintain an excellent level of customer satisfaction. You are the first point of technical contact on-site, independently diagnosing faults in buses – both mechanical and electrical/electronic systems – and performing maintenance and repair work.
Responsibilities
- Ensure vehicle availability at the customer's site by practically solving technical problems (mechanical, electrical, and electronic) and involving third-party networks for complex cases.
- Perform swift and thorough fault diagnosis, including reading errors via diagnostic software and multiplex systems, and carry out repairs in compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations.
- Combine reactive repair with preventive maintenance according to documented plans and standards.
- Independently inspect, repair, and commission electrical, electronic, and vehicle technology systems on buses (HV and NV systems, wiring harnesses, lighting, door control, air conditioning, driver assistance systems).
- Coordinate and monitor defect rectification when other technicians are involved, ensuring the availability of vehicles, parts, materials, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Conduct customer staff training as needed.
- Comprehensively and accurately record and process own activities, including warranty claims, parts orders, order creation, time tracking, and reporting.

Requirements
- All legal requirements for employment in Germany must be met at the time of application (valid work and residence permit, if applicable).
- Very good German language skills, both written and spoken, are mandatory.
- Completed vocational training as a mechatronics technician, automotive mechatronics technician, or vehicle electrician.
- Demonstrable experience in repair and maintenance, including bodywork, electrical, electronics, and mechanics.
- Sound knowledge of vehicle electrics: reading and interpreting circuit diagrams, inspecting and repairing electrical wiring, connectors, fuses, and control units.
- Electrical diagnostic skills, including working with multiplex systems (CAN bus, LIN bus, or similar).
- IT affinity and confident use of Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Systematic and clean working method, ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable, with strong self-organization and planning skills.
- Customer-oriented, with the ability to communicate on both technical and commercial levels.
- Willingness to work overtime, outside regular hours, and undertake assignments in other countries if required.
