About the Role
You will be responsible for the performance evaluation and optimization of ADAS systems in vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Understand vehicle specifications, sensor placement, and control specifications.
- Define adaptation items for each ADAS function (AEB, ACC, LKA, BSM, etc.).
- Organize evaluation scenarios and driving conditions.
- Confirm relevant laws and NCAP requirements (UN-R, J-NCAP, etc.).
- Confirm camera, radar, and LiDAR installation status.
- Perform static and dynamic calibration for sensors.
- Confirm ECU communication (CAN/Ethernet).
- Confirm signals (vehicle speed, yaw rate, etc.).
- Perform actual vehicle evaluation for each ADAS function.
- Evaluate recognition performance (detection distance, false positives, etc.).
- Evaluate control behavior (deceleration G, steering intervention).
- Evaluate driver discomfort.
- Adjust software parameters.
- Identify conditions for reproducing phenomena.
- Analyze logs (CAN/ECU/sensor).
- Analyze causes.
- Provide feedback to the software development department.
- Perform legal evaluations and provide technical explanations.
- Perform pre-checks before NCAP testing.
- Confirm final margins considering production variations.
- Define adjustment conditions for the production factory.
Requirements
- Over 5 years of experience in the automotive or mobility industry.
- Experience and track record in embedded system verification within the automotive industry.
- Experience as a functional owner in ADAS system development.
- Experience in ADAS system or software design/evaluation.
- Understanding of sensor characteristics (camera/radar).
- Basic knowledge of vehicle dynamics and chassis.
- Fluent reading, writing, and speaking skills in Japanese.
- Ability to communicate effectively with client stakeholders and vendors.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and actively and effectively within a team.
- Proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic about self-development and supporting junior staff.
- Systematic, structured, and logical thinking with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of the latest testing methods and tools, and the ability to introduce and apply them.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Word).
