About the Role

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team offers the opportunity to build and operate massive scale, integrated cloud services in a distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. OCI provides best-in-class cloud products to meet customer needs for tackling significant global challenges. We seek smart, hands-on engineers with expertise and passion for solving difficult problems in distributed, highly available services and virtualized infrastructure. Engineers at all levels have a significant technical and business impact, designing and building innovative systems for customer business-critical applications.

Responsibilities

Design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure.
Own the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure.
Design broad distributed system interactions.
Dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems.

Requirements

Experience with distributed systems.
Experience with the design of major features and launching them into production.
Experience operating high-scale services and understanding how to make them more resilient.
Ability to work on most projects and tasks independently.
Experience working with services that require adherence to security, compliance, and regulations.
Be a rock-solid coder and a distributed systems generalist.
Value simplicity and scale.
Work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment.
