About the Role

As a Software Engineer, you will join a small engineering team working directly with the CTO and Founding Software Engineer. You will help build, improve, and scale Panora's core product, transforming customer problems into reliable features used daily by insurance brokers. Your work will involve backend engineering, AI-powered product features, data processing and integrations, and product development, with ownership over meaningful product parts in a complex, regulated environment.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and ship product features used daily by insurance brokers.
Improve existing workflows and build new ones across the platform.
Work closely with the founders to turn customer feedback into product improvements.
Build backend services, integrations, and AI-powered workflows.
Write clean, maintainable, and reliable production code.
Improve system quality, performance, and observability as the product scales.
Take ownership of features from idea to production.
Contribute to architecture and engineering best practices.
Help shape how engineering evolves at Panora.

Requirements

Have a first experience building and shipping production software in a startup or product-driven environment.
Be comfortable with backend development (TypeScript/Node.js or equivalent) and enjoy solving real engineering problems.
Have worked with APIs, cloud infrastructure, or data-intensive applications.
Be curious about AI and excited to build products powered by modern AI systems.
Be comfortable joining an existing codebase and improving it incrementally.
Care about building reliable products that create value for users.
Enjoy ownership, learning fast, and working in an ambitious, fast-moving environment.
Exposure to AI-powered products, document processing, or workflow automation (Bonus).
Experience in insurance, fintech, legaltech, or another regulated environment (Bonus).
