About the Role

As an HR Service Specialist at Hitachi Rail, you will drive the sustainable mobility transformation by making rail transport safer, more efficient, and attractive. Responsibilities

  • Independently responsible for timely and correct payroll processing, considering complex tax and social security requirements.
  • Provide competent and reliable support to employees, managers, and external parties on all payroll-related issues with a high degree of service orientation.
  • Proactively contribute to daily operations and ensure smooth HR processes through structured work methods.
  • Perform monthly payroll for a defined area, including recording and checking time tracking data while considering various working time models and tax/social security regulations.
  • Record, check, and maintain master and transactional data, process new hires and terminations, and reconcile special payments.
  • Independently handle special cases such as anniversary bonuses, one-time payments, company pension schemes, or partial retirement.
  • Reliably support the team in operational daily business, including managing the HR inbox and processing incoming mail.
  • Conduct correspondence with authorities, courts, and social security institutions.
  • Inform employees about legal, collective agreement, and company regulations.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed commercial apprenticeship or equivalent, ideally with a focus on HR.
  • Sound knowledge of payroll processing.
  • Experience in applying collective agreement, tax, and legal requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ideally, experience with SAP and Workday.
  • Organizational talent with an independent and conscientious work style.
  • Negotiation-level German language skills (written and spoken).
  • Good English language skills.
