About the Role
This rotational traineeship offers broad exposure to the full unscripted television production process. You will gain hands-on experience across various aspects of television production, including casting, production, editorial, studio operations, technical operations, and post-production. Over nine months, you will develop practical skills, work with industry professionals, and discover your strengths in the dynamic TV industry.
Responsibilities
- Support teams in production offices, on location, or in studio environments.
- Assist with researching stories, contributors, and locations for programmes.
- Help with casting, fact-checking, and editorial research.
- Contribute to development projects, creative brainstorms, and programme ideas.
- Support shoots, production logistics, schedules, and production paperwork.
- Learn about compliance, safeguarding, and production responsibilities.
- Gain experience in rights, clearances, risk assessments, and production processes.
- Understand how content moves through post-production, media management, and editing workflows.
- Develop technical skills through practical experience and shadowing crew.
- Explore the use of emerging technologies and AI tools in modern production environments.
Requirements
- A basic understanding of television or screen production from development to delivery.
- An interest in unscripted television, storytelling, and programme development/production.
- Experience working collaboratively in a job, education, volunteering, or personal project.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain ideas straightforwardly.
- Willingness to learn across different departments and try new things.
- An interest in technology, digital tools, or emerging media trends, including a basic awareness of AI.
