About the Role
As an Art Therapist, you will play a key role in supporting patients through evidence-based, creative therapeutic interventions in a group setting. You will work collaboratively with patients and the broader care team to develop and deliver tailored treatment plans that support recovery, engagement, and improved functional outcomes. You will have access to a modern and purpose-built art studio built in 2024.
Responsibilities
- Develop client-focused, evidence-based treatment goals and care plans in partnership with patients, aligned with Ramsay policies and procedures
- Complete comprehensive initial assessments and formulate appropriate art therapy interventions
- Plan and facilitate group art therapy programs in both an inpatient and outpatient setting to support patient recovery
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, high-quality care to both inpatients and outpatients
- Apply sound clinical reasoning and professional judgement, considering both immediate and longer-term impacts
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
- Deliver high standards of patient care and service, aligned with Ramsay’s commitment to excellence
- Demonstrate understanding and application of risk management principles
- Actively contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the service
- Show initiative in identifying opportunities to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery
- Undertake other duties as required by Management
Requirements
- ANZACATA registered Art Therapist
- Experience working with individuals presenting with mental health concerns is crucial
- Relevant qualifications in Art Therapy (ANZACATA registration)
- Eligibility for appropriate professional membership to relevant health bodies (AHPRA, PACFA, ACA)
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary and evidence-based art therapy models
- Experience facilitating group therapy programs – ideally within a mental health setting
- Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
- Experience working with complex mental health presentations including Trauma, Eating Disorders
- Must provide or complete a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
- Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children Check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases
