About the Role

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead and manage multiple small to medium-sized projects. This role is responsible for contributing to the company's financial targets while meeting all project deliverables and milestones. The Senior Project Manager will have overall project supervision and be responsible for their project's P&L, coordinating resource allocation, monitoring performance, and driving project execution until contract closure.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage multiple small to medium-sized projects.
Contribute to the company’s financial targets while meeting all deliverables and milestones.
Oversee project P&L.
Coordinate resource allocations with the Project Portfolio Director / Project Director.
Monitor and control projects and report on overall performance.
Drive project execution and controlling until contract closure.
Manage performance, costs, schedule, quality, and risks & opportunities.
Manage interface with key customers, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Understand product development dependencies.
Implement EAC process, sales and cash forecasts, and risks & opportunities management with Operations (PMO) support.
Follow Group processes, methods, tools, and practices to deliver projects.
Monitor the performance of activities in all work packages.
Ensure lessons learned are captured and drive continuous improvement.
Manage URS Projects Management resources, ensuring their competence, development, and satisfaction.
Support the Company’s footprints and SBP business goals.
Ensure the development and training of Project skills and expertise.
Share vision and demonstrate direction from a leadership perspective.
Foster a single path for the projects team.
Create an environment where the project team is motivated and focused on objectives.
Display strong communication skills ensuring clarity with senior management, key customers, and project teams.

Requirements

15 years of experience in a related industry or from a technical/aerospace field.
5-10 years of experience as a project manager with people management/leadership experience.
Strong technical expertise in Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) railway signaling systems.
Previous experience leading international projects in a matrix environment.
Ability to deliver under pressure.
PMP or IPMA certification.
Located in the GTA area.
