About the Role
We are looking for a professional who can develop responsive, user-friendly web interfaces for an internal AI platform or portal. The role involves connecting a variety of third-party AI providers into a single, front-facing, and intuitive user experience. You will be responsible for integrating front-end applications with APIs, AI services, and enterprise identity and access controls. This position plays a key role in delivering a secure, scalable, and seamless AI experience for internal users.
Responsibilities
- Develop, execute and maintain a complete data governance strategy and capabilities to analyze, design, develop, maintain and enhance data for various domains across the organization
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to scope data requirements and build data driven solutions to solve data problems
- Facilitate, educate and promote the usage and adoption of the data governance tools, processes and procedures among all users via formal training, continual coaching and consulting
- Manage, support and educate data services staff while promoting growth and excellence of staff
- Coordinate, establish and define data stewards, owners and creators in the business
- Coordinate and establish the Data Stewardship Council and other Data Governance Committees to ensure they meet their mandate
- Guide and facilitate the data issue resolution process in the lines of business
- Provide leadership on governance best practices for data creation and partner with the line of business to evaluate KPI measurement needs
- Communicate the data strategy, policy, standards, procedures (Framework) to Hydro One
- Enforce compliance to internal data governance policies and procedures
- Measure data quality for the most important business data
- Define data quality metrics and provide ongoing reporting
- Define data quality business rules
- Establish periodic monitoring of data quality
- Review business policies to identify data requirements
- Provide guidance to remedy operational issues, cleanse and correct data quality defects
- Understand master data and meta data requirements
- With ISD support, design, develop, deploy master data repository / environment
- Develop, deploy meta data repository / environment
- Support and collaborate with ISD to define the data structures needed by the business to address data storage needs and the movement of data through business systems
- Support and collaborate with ISD to define and analyze the information needed for business decisions (including benchmarking)
- Perform fit / gap analysis of decision data
- Evaluate quality of data, level of accuracy needed and metrics to measure ongoing quality
- With support from change management, manage data analytics training to business to increase understanding of data techniques and processes and to ensure adoption of the analytics apps.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and proficiency with data governance tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Talend, or IBM InfoSphere
- Knowledge of data architecture and metadata management
- Understanding of data modeling and master data management
- Skills in data analytics and visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau or Looker
- 5-10 yrs of experience in data governance management roles, leading cross functional team and data stewardship and master data management
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to align data initiatives with business objectives
- Excellent communication and training skills to educate and influence stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in resolving data quality or governance issues
- Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and manage interdepartmental collaboration
- Experience with change management and driving adoption of data practices
