About the Role
Shrub Oak International School (SOIS) is a therapeutic day and residential school for autistic children, adolescents, and young adults with complex co-occurring conditions. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of office space, common areas, and public spaces, including dusting, vacuuming, collecting trash and recycling, cleaning bathrooms and sanitizing surfaces.
- Care for floors by sweeping, mopping, and polishing to maintain a spotless appearance.
- Restock amenities such as toiletries, linens, and supplies.
- Follow established protocols for industrial cleaning and custodial tasks to uphold health and safety standards.
- Assist with laundry duties including washing, folding, and organizing linens and towels.
- Attend to any immediate issues that arise.
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to ensure a safe environment for all.
Requirements
- Proven experience in cleaning and janitorial work.
- Strong knowledge of floor care techniques including sweeping, mopping, buffing and polishing floors.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in fast-paced settings.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.
- Strong written communication skills, specifically involving documentation, progress notes, incident reports, and other related administrative tasks.
- Prior housekeeping or custodial experience preferred.
- Must be able to ambulate around the campus, including hills, stairs, grass and gravel.
- Mandated Reporter Training.
- PPE knowledge.
