About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Permitting Manager to independently manage and implement permitting procedures for offshore wind projects. You will collaborate closely with project teams, authorities, and internal stakeholders, develop permitting strategies, and identify risks and conflicts early on. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and workflows within Consenting.

Responsibilities

• Independent management of permitting procedures for the planning, construction, and operation of our offshore wind projects and assets.
• Collaboration with authorities, internal and external stakeholders to obtain, modify, and maintain permits.
• Development and operational implementation of permitting strategies in conjunction with project teams.
• Evaluation of new projects from a permitting and implementation perspective.
• Identification and management of permitting risks, conflicts, and suitable mitigation measures.
• Coordination of internal interfaces and transparent preparation of regulatory requirements and dependencies.
• Management of environmental expert reports, surveys, and external consultants in the permitting context.
• Shaping processes, standards, and collaboration within the Consenting function.
• Providing technical support to less experienced colleagues as needed.

Requirements

• You are comfortable in an agile, stakeholder-rich environment and can independently structure, prioritize, and effectively implement permitting processes with project teams.
• You are familiar with the German permitting regime, recognize regulatory developments early, and make risks, conflicts, and complex interrelationships transparent and manageable.
• You work collaboratively, constructively question existing ways of working, and actively contribute to the further development of the Consenting team.
• As a strong stakeholder manager, you convince with friendly, clear, and direct communication.
• Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, e.g., renewable energies, environmental sciences, spatial planning, law, or administrative management.
• Several years of experience in permitting management, permitting procedures, or environmental impact assessments, ideally in the German offshore wind context.
• Ability to manage permitting processes and work packages in a structured, independent manner with good judgment.
• Experience in collaborating with authorities, consultants, project teams, and other stakeholders.
• Good project management, prioritization, and communication skills.
• Interest in international, multidisciplinary collaboration and in the further development of processes and ways of working.
• Understanding of energy and regulatory policy developments and their impact on project development.
• Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
• Interest in language, legal texts, and a high awareness of health and safety.
