About the Role
Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa's clients, including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants. The VCA team within Japan provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients in Japan, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management and digital strategy. The Account dedicated team plays a key role to enhance the partnership with one of Visa Japan’s largest clients and focuses on developing, implementing, and improving clients’ business by collaborating with them closely. We are looking for a Senior Consulting Manager to deliver account dedicated engagements for our clients in Japan, enabling portfolio growth and improved profitability across their payment businesses, especially in B2B portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Deliver account dedicated engagements for clients in Japan, enabling portfolio growth and improved profitability across their payment businesses, especially in B2B portfolio.
- Manage end-to-end client engagements, including client interaction, project input gathering, data analysis, and recommendation development.
- Develop compelling project reports and collaborate with clients on recommendation execution.
- Draft engagement designs, clarifying objectives, scope, deliverables, approach, dependencies, roles, and responsibilities.
- Oversee project setup, including contracting documentation, stakeholder engagement, workplans, and client data requirements.
- Analyze client data to benchmark performance against industry averages and identify improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with data science teams to leverage advanced data analytics capabilities.
- Identify solutions and recommendations that address client objectives and result in performance improvement.
- Design and deliver compelling presentations to illustrate findings and recommendations.
- Support the implementation of VCA recommendations or client initiatives.
- Identify and surface opportunities for client projects.
- Create, develop, and maintain analytical models and methodologies.
- Continuously build knowledge, surface new insights, and produce thought leadership pieces.
Requirements
- Full professional level in Japanese and business level English proficiency.
- At least 10 years or more of experience and a track record of high performance in strategy consulting or corporate strategy.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to handle numerous projects concurrently.
- Strong capability in building and maintaining client relationships.
- Strong team player, collaborative, diplomatic, and agile.
- Able to work across cultures, upholds and promotes mutual respect in the workplace.
- Results-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor.
- Ability to independently identify key issues, prioritize, and develop hypotheses.
- Good business acumen with strong ability to solve business problems through data-driven quantitative methodologies.
- Proven skills in translating analytics output to actionable recommendations.
- Experience in presenting ideas and analysis to stakeholders with the ability to tailor data-driven results to various audience levels.
- Detail-oriented, ensuring the highest level of quality and rigor in deliverables, reports, and data analysis.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate solutions to solve business problems.
- Passion for Visa and client business, technology innovation, with high energy and intelligence.
- Exhibit intellectual curiosity and strive to continually learn.
- Experience in payments, the retail banking industry, or technology is helpful.
- A solid understanding of the end-to-end landscape of B2B payments in financial institutions and/or their ecosystem, or the ability to quickly build this knowledge.
- PMP certification or experience in technical project management is helpful.
