About the Role
The Hearing Care Coordinator (HCC) works closely with clinical staff to ensure patients receive quality care and service. By partnering with onsite Hearing Care Professionals, the HCC supports referring physicians and patients by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and assisting with clinic support needs.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients with a positive and professional attitude
- Place outbound calls to current and former patients for follow-up scheduling
- Collect patient intake forms and maintain patient files/notes
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments
- Complete benefit checks and authorization for each patient's insurance
- Provide first-level patient support, answer questions, check patients in/out, and process payments
- Process repairs under the supervision of a licensed Hearing Care Professional
- Prepare bank deposits and submit daily reports to finance
- Provide general sales knowledge for accessories and patient support
- Process patient orders, receive orders, verify pick-up, and input information into the system
- Clean and maintain equipment and instruments
- Submit equipment and facility requests
- Perform general office duties, including cleaning
- Manage inventory, order/monitor stock, and submit supply orders
- Assist with event planning and logistics for at least one community outreach event per month
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience/knowledge with hearing aids is a plus
- Professional verbal and written communication
- Strong relationship-building skills with patients, physicians, and clinical staff
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- EMR/EHR experience a plus
- 2+ years in a health care environment is preferred
- Previous customer service experience is required
