About the Role

Sierra is building a platform to help businesses create better, more human customer experiences using AI. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about driving operational efficiency and scaling the accounting function through innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end accounting close.
• Ensure timely close across all global entities.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review accuracy and completeness of expenses, including developing a robust accrual process.
• Prepare period-over-period analysis.
• Assist with the order-to-cash process.
• Ensure timely processing of customer invoices.
• Develop a systematic approach to AR collections.
• Review customer contracts and consumption reports for accurate revenue recognition according to ASC606.
• Lead preparation for audit readiness.
• Coordinate with external auditors for timely submission of all required requests.
• Proactively participate in Finance Transformation initiatives to leverage AI and tooling for scaling.
• Enhance or upgrade the tech stack to enable the latest in AI technology.
• Challenge existing processes and develop an AI-first approach.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience with a mix of public (highly regulated) and private (hyper growth) environments.
• Proficient in US GAAP (revenue recognition, lease accounting, stock-based compensation, etc.).
• Ability to identify areas for improvement and build solutions using AI.
• Desire to drive operational efficiency to scale the accounting function.
• A structured, self-directed, detail-oriented builder and problem solver who can design, run, and improve processes without direct management.
• A bias for simplifying and automating processes.
• Passion for building an AI-native finance function.
• Previous IPO experience with an enterprise B2B software company is a plus.
• CPA license and/or Big 4 experience is a plus.
• Proficiency with modern office of the CFO tech stack is a plus.
