About the Role
This role involves conducting legal and business research, analyzing findings, and assisting attorneys and professionals with research tools and technologies. The position also includes evaluating research resources and maintaining awareness of developments in legal research and AI.
Responsibilities
- Conducts legal and business research for attorneys, clients, and staff.
- Analyzes and synthesizes research findings into clear, concise, and actionable work product.
- Develops and maintains current awareness tracking and monitoring.
- Participates in the department's research intake process, conducting reference interviews and responding to research requests.
- Designs and delivers one annual training on legal research resources and research strategies.
- Assists attorneys and business professionals in the effective use of legal research, analytics, and AI-enabled tools.
- Participates in the evaluation of research resources, analytics platforms, and emerging technologies.
- Maintains awareness of developments in legal research, legal technology, and artificial intelligence.
- Participates in departmental meetings, projects, and other initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience conducting legal and business research in a large law firm or similar professional services environment.
- Strong client service orientation and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex information clearly and effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business productivity tools.
- Advanced proficiency with Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, and PACER.
- Familiarity with generative AI and AI-enhanced legal research tools.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of firm and client information.
