About the Role

The Optical Associate, Optician is responsible for driving store sales and customer retention by delivering exceptional service and utilizing the Total Customer Experience Model. This role involves filling ophthalmic prescriptions, fitting lenses and frames, and fostering strong relationships with doctors, hosts, and associates.

Responsibilities

• Attract and retain customers through exceptional service
• Drive profitable store sales using the Total Customer Experience Model
• Develop professional relationships with associates, hosts, and doctors
• Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fit/adapt lenses and frames
• Evaluate prescriptions based on customer visual requirements
• Recommend lenses, coatings, and frames to meet customer needs
• Assist customers with frame selection and coordination
• Conduct precise optical measurements including bridge, eye size, temple length, and pupillary distance
• Ensure quality through accurate measurements, correct pricing, and realistic delivery quotes
• Maximize Managed Vision Care relationships and sales opportunities
• Assist with the implementation of marketing programs
• Ensure positive host relationships and participation

Requirements

• Applicable state licensure or certification by a nationally recognized optician association if required by state
• Proven ability to sell and achieve sales results
• Experience in a retail or customer service environment
• Strong communication skills to meet customer expectations
• Success in store merchandising and attention to detail
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a related field
