About the Role

The Associate, Privacy & Compliance supports the Privacy & Compliance team in executing GreenShield’s Privacy Management and Compliance frameworks. This role ensures compliance processes are effective and standards are implemented across the organization, offering visibility and exposure to all areas. The successful candidate will build relationships, support oversight activities, and contribute to a "Better Way" of delivering services.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in monitoring and managing GreenShield’s Regulatory Compliance Management Framework and delivering the Regulatory Compliance Management Self-Assessment process.
  • Support the Privacy and Compliance team with updating compliance requirements and regulatory updates within Resolver.
  • Assist in managing GreenShield’s Privacy Management Framework to identify, manage, and coordinate significant privacy risks.
  • Support GreenShield’s Regulatory Compliance Management Framework by managing and tracking key risk indicators and operational risk events.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly risk and compliance reporting and communications to senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Contribute to the review of marketing and advertising materials and support the Sales team in obtaining necessary information for Requests for Proposals.
  • Distribute, collect, analyze, and report on GreenShield’s corporate compliance activities, including licensing, regulatory filings, and fee payments.
  • Support governance processes for the development, review, and updating of corporate policies and standards.
  • Provide guidance to the business regarding market conduct (e.g., advisor licensing, contracting, monitoring) and complaint procedures.
  • Complete the Anti-Money Laundering / Anti-Terrorist Financing name screening process and submit required regulatory filings.
  • Assist in promoting the awareness and application of privacy and compliance risk management across the organization.
  • Create and maintain a Privacy Impact Assessment log.
  • Maintain Privacy Incident and Breach logs.
  • Update and maintain the regulatory policy tracker to ensure timely policy updates by owners.
  • Support the Security and Privacy Committee, annual regulatory reporting, and the insurance agent licensing program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically in life and health insurance.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree.
  • Results-oriented.
  • Possesses a big-picture perspective and understanding of the business with keen attention to detail.
  • Innovative thinker and problem solver.
  • Proactive self-starter who takes ownership and is willing to "roll up the sleeves".
  • Strong interpersonal skills; thrives in a collaborative team-based environment.
  • Highly developed planning and organizational skills; can manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and respond to changing priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills; confident, credible, and personable.
  • Proficiency in English is required.
