About the Role

The Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital (VPCH) is seeking a Temporary Cook C to prepare and cook meals for patients in a 25-bed hospital setting. This role involves menu review, food production, and maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in menu review and food production.
• Assist with maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation.
• Operate slicers and knives.
• Perform cleaning duties, including dishwashing.
• Lift up to 60 lbs.
• Maintain organization in walk-in and dry storage areas.
• Assist with cleaning tasks.
• Supervise institutional residents or inmates in work situations.

Requirements

• Must pass a fingerprint-supported background investigation.
• Must pass Vermont and/or national criminal record checks.
• Must pass DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks as appropriate.
• Must be ServSafe Certified within the first six months of employment (for specific facilities).
