About the Role

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is seeking a motivated co-op student to join our Procurement team for an 8-month term. This role offers hands-on experience in the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing goods and services, ensuring value for money, transparency, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and procurement tracking.
  • Support vendor onboarding and maintenance of supplier records.
  • Monitor contract terms, renewals, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct supplier research and assist with RFS/RFP processes.
  • Support procurement compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in strengthening vendor performance and risk management frameworks.
  • Provide data and documentation support for internal audit activities.
  • Assist in developing and updating procurement forms, tracking sheets, and related documents.
  • Support process mapping and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
  • Gather, analyze, and compile data into clear reports and dashboards.
  • Create charts, graphs, and visualizations to communicate insights.
  • Support the preparation of presentations for Executive Leadership.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support to the Procurement team.

Requirements

  • Completion of 2nd or 3rd year in Business, Supply Chain, or a related program, registered in a co-op program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Coursework in procurement, process improvement, or risk management is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with automation is an asset.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Great Plains) is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
