About the Role
The Solana Foundation is seeking a General Manager, AI Ecosystem to be its most senior presence in Silicon Valley. This role is accountable for Solana's growth in the region, setting strategy, managing a budget, making funding decisions, and building key relationships. The primary mandate is to bridge Solana and the AI & emerging tech worlds, convincing builders that Solana is the platform for AI and crypto convergence.
Responsibilities
- Own Solana Foundation's entire strategy and presence in the Bay Area.
- Build deep relationships across the AI/ML startup, research, and infrastructure communities.
- Make the case for building cutting-edge AI products and use cases on Solana.
- Convert conviction into real projects.
- Identify, cultivate, and activate the region's strongest builders.
- Build trusted relationships with the Bay Area's top VCs, accelerators, and incubators.
- Drive high-quality deal flow and co-investment into the Solana ecosystem.
- Set the regional event strategy, including hackathons, founder dinners, and technical salons.
- Forge partnerships across AI, fintech, and consumer tech.
- Represent the Foundation in conversations with investors, founders, and press.
- Feed market intelligence back to global leadership to shape Solana's broader strategy.
Requirements
- A senior operator with a decade or more across venture capital, ecosystem leadership, company founding or scaling, product or growth at a top-tier technology organization.
- A track record others can point to.
- Deeply networked in the Bay Area, with real, earned relationships among founders, investors, and operators.
- Fluent in both crypto/Solana and AI/emerging tech.
- The judgment of a capital allocator.
- An exceptional communicator and closer.
- Comfortable with full ownership and ambiguity.
- Based full-time in the San Francisco Bay Area.
