About the Role

The Security Officer will safeguard the hotel, guest, and associates' property from vandalism, theft, and crime. This role involves monitoring and controlling movement at the staff entrance, handling tasks with diplomacy and efficiency, and recording visitor belongings. The officer will ensure unauthorized personnel do not access hotel floors and back-of-house areas, be familiar with the hotel layout, and check current events and functions during their shift. Additionally, they will patrol assigned areas to ensure the safety and comfort of guests.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard the hotel, guest and associates’ property from vandalism, theft and any kind of crime
  • Monitor and control the movement of all associates, visitors, and contractors leaving or entering the hotel through the staff entrance
  • Handle all tasks with diplomacy, tact, appropriate discretion and efficiency
  • Record and control all visitors’ belongings / items when entering and leaving the hotel premises through the associate entrance or loading dock
  • Ensure that unauthorized personnel do not gain access to the hotel floors and back of the house areas
  • Be fully conversant with every detail of the hotel layout
  • Ensure to check all current events, activities, and functions at the time of duty
  • Patrol the areas of responsibility and ensure the safety and comfort of all guests

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of security or law enforcement experience
  • Luxury hotel experience preferred
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic, creative and fast-paced environment
  • Outgoing and people-oriented personality
  • Effective interpersonal skills and a great team player
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Familiar with State and local safety regulations (i.e., OSHA)
  • CPR/First Aid certified is a plus
  • Spanish/Tagalog/Mandarin proficiency is a plus
