About the Role
We are looking for an Assistant Store Manager who is an energetic, hands-on leader with a passion for retail, customer experience, and team development. The ideal candidate will support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations while helping to drive sales, maintain operational excellence, and create a fun and inspiring environment for customers and team members alike. The Assistant Store Manager serves as a key leader on the sales floor, leading by example, coaching team members, and ensuring the successful execution of Flying Tiger Copenhagen’s brand standards and business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in leading all aspects of daily store operations and achieving business goals
- Act as a brand ambassador, creating a welcoming, engaging, and fun shopping experience for customers
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and product engagement
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, training, and developing team members
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to store associates to drive engagement and results
- Drive store performance by monitoring and contributing to key performance indicators (sales, conversion, items per transaction, average basket value, and customer experience metrics)
- Take ownership of the store in the Store Manager’s absence, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
- Support the execution of visual merchandising standards, product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns
- Assist with inventory management, stock replenishment, stockroom organization, and loss prevention initiatives
- Ensure the store remains clean, safe, organized, and aligned with brand presentation standards
- Support scheduling, payroll administration, and workforce planning to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Conduct team briefings and communicate company initiatives, product knowledge, and operational priorities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using POS systems
- Utilize the company’s mobile application to manage daily workflows, complete audits and checklists, document store standards, and support operational compliance
- Monitor and support adherence to company policies, procedures, and health and safety standards
- Perform opening and closing duties, including cash handling and keyholder responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of retail leadership experience, preferably in specialty, lifestyle, or high-volume retail environments
- Previous experience as a Key Holder, Supervisor, Team Lead, or Assistant Manager preferred
- Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Passion for customer service and creating memorable shopping experiences
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of sales drivers and store KPIs
- Experience with inventory control, stock management, and merchandising standards
- Comfortable using POS systems, retail technology, and Microsoft Office applications
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to lift and move merchandise (up to approximately 50 lbs) as needed
- Comfortable using ladders or step stools
- Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, standing for extended periods, and carrying merchandise
