About the Role
Bodycote is the world's largest provider of thermal processing services, employing thousands of highly skilled staff globally. This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus.
Responsibilities
- Clean and prepare all detail materials for EB Weld processing.
- Position and fasten work pieces onto holding fixtures.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, attachments, accessories onto machines.
- Follow customer's specific instructions and specifications.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments.
- Prepare and analyze weld specimens to determine weld characteristics and adjust weld settings.
- Observe and listen to operating machines to diagnose malfunctions and determine need for adjustments or repairs.
- Perform basic machine maintenance to maintain part quality and quantity standards.
- Perform troubleshooting and technically assist with tasks as assigned.
- Operate all in-house welding equipment.
- Maintain records and document in-process inspection data.
- Work with a variety of materials, including steel, copper, aluminum, titanium, Inconel and other precious metals.
- Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment.
- Report any irregularity to Leadperson for management.
- Promote safety and good housekeeping practices.
- Work in a manner consistent with the EMS.
- Perform other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
- Report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
- Perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
Requirements
- Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.
- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an office/industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
- Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical.
- Must have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week.
Skills
- GTAW or TIG welding experience (desired but not required)
- Aerospace industry experience (desired but not required)
- Microsoft Office
