About the Role

Acts as a senior technical team member of the data and digital solutions engineering team, overseeing data management, collaborating with business and technology stakeholders, and delivering expertise for data models, integration, and access. This role involves hands-on development to support applications and databases, and engagement in strategic initiatives to meet business and technology objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute ideas to the maintenance of the Core Bank Data Model.
  • Recommend technical direction and implement solutions based on the Data Management Roadmap.
  • Analyze project requirements and design/implement data management solutions.
  • Adhere to and recommend data management practices, including standards, frameworks, and reusable components.
  • Understand and follow agile project processes.
  • Follow and recommend improvements to engineering processes, including source code management, secure coding standards, code review, and change management.
  • Maintain awareness of the data management tool market and product improvements.
  • Review and recommend improvements to existing data management designs.
  • Recommend solutions to improve data management.
  • Respond to customer queries and concerns promptly.
  • Suggest new designs to eliminate future issues.
  • Provide technical support for data management solutions.
  • Perform system failure analysis and drive corrective actions.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and suggest long-term solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of experience in data management within a large, regulated financial services (preferably banking) environment.
  • Hands-on requirements gathering and analysis, data modeling, development, and implementation of data architectures (RDBMS and Data Lake House).
  • Experience with data integration involving databases and SaaS products using APIs, file transfer, ETL, and ELT methods.
  • Understanding of operating systems, application security configurations, and best practices in Windows and UNIX environments.
  • Ability to take initiative, pursue assignments to completion, and employ System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards.
  • Experience integrating with CI systems such as Bamboo, Chef, and Jenkins.
  • Experience with Relational Database Management Systems, such as Oracle, including PL/SQL and expert SQL.
  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and proficiency in at least one programming language.
  • Ability to collaborate with teams to achieve results.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, independently or as part of a team.
