About the Role

Kennedy Jenks is seeking a licensed Civil Engineer with a structural focus in Northern California to design and ensure the structural integrity and life safety of various infrastructure projects such as pump stations, reservoirs, and water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other engineers and designers as part of the Kennedy Jenks Technical Services Team.
  • Lead structural engineering projects in the design of concrete, steel, wood, masonry, and composite construction.
  • Prepare specifications and drawings related to structural engineering.
  • Design and analyze structures such as treatment plant buildings, tanks, clarifiers, and other facilities within the water and wastewater treatment process in high seismic regions.
  • Evaluate existing structures.
  • Design and analyze pump stations, including housing buildings, piping systems, and support structures.
  • Lead structural engineering efforts during construction as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including on-site structural observation.
  • Provide solutions to clients throughout the United States, supporting municipal agencies and industrial facilities.
  • Utilize BIM tools for project delivery and client collaboration.
  • Collaborate with clients to provide input from initial planning through design and construction.

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) required in the state of California.
  • Experience working on structural engineering projects from conception to completion, including collaboration, design, analysis, and construction phase.
  • Deep understanding of structural design principles, codes, and standards.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D/BIM modeling.
