About the Role
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Lead Primary Montessori Teacher to join our team for the 2026 - 2027 school year, beginning in August of 2026. You will lead a class of 3-6 year olds, assess their development, and design enriching activities to meet their needs. We will pay for the right candidate to become trained in Montessori. This position is 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday - Friday, with summer hours of 8:30 - 3:30. The school closes for several breaks, and there are two and a half weeks of paid time off in the Summer. You are passionate about learning and helping students reach their potential, with strong creative and problem-solving skills, and enjoy connecting with children and families while creating an engaging classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Create and follow a developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Assist children in developing their sense of self, confidence and independence
- Assist children with developing social and emotional skills
- Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques
- Communicate with parents and other school personnel
- Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones
Requirements
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
- Problem-solving and mediation skills
