About the Role
Emerald is seeking a Manager, Event Technology Reporting & Insights to establish and manage the reporting and analytics for their event technology ecosystem. This role is crucial for measuring platform performance, adoption, and operational readiness, translating data into actionable insights to drive strategic decisions across a portfolio of B2B events.
Responsibilities
- Define and standardize event technology KPIs across platforms and shows.
- Establish internal adoption metrics including show team setup completion, readiness compliance, platform usage, and launch timelines.
- Establish external adoption metrics including exhibitor profile completion, mobile app activation, lead capture usage, attendee engagement, matchmaking participation, and sponsorship performance.
- Ensure KPI definitions are consistent, documented, and understood across the team and by show team stakeholders.
- Explore and apply AI-assisted approaches to anomaly detection, pattern recognition, and predictive reporting.
- Build and maintain repeatable dashboards and report templates for event technology performance.
- Manage reporting request intake and prioritization.
- Deliver portfolio-level insights and learnings to leadership on a regular cadence.
- Support show teams and Brand Success Managers with event-level reporting as needed.
- Leverage AI tools to improve reporting efficiency, automate recurring report generation, and surface insights.
- Partner with Platform Leads to understand data availability, structure, and limitations across the event technology stack.
- Work with Data & Analytics and IT to ensure event technology data flows correctly into Databricks and Power BI.
- Identify and escalate pipeline gaps.
- Identify inconsistencies in data across platforms and shows and drive toward standardization.
- Support integration requirements scoping by documenting data needs.
- Translate data into clear, actionable findings for platform strategy, vendor performance, and operational planning.
- Identify gaps in reporting capabilities and surface them with recommended solutions.
- Share insights across show teams and leadership in accessible formats.
- Track evolving reporting needs and adapt frameworks accordingly.
Requirements
- Experience in a reporting, analytics, or business intelligence role.
- Experience building dashboards, defining KPIs, and managing reporting for an operational team or business function.
- Proficiency with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
- Experience working with data platforms like Databricks or similar is a plus.
- Curiosity about AI-assisted analytics tools and a willingness to experiment.
- Strong ability to work across systems and translate business questions into data requirements and vice versa.
- Experience partnering with technical teams (data engineering, IT, or platform administrators) to understand data availability and resolve pipeline issues.
- Highly organized with a process orientation: build intake systems, manage competing requests, and keep stakeholders informed.
- Clear communicator who can present data findings to non-technical audiences, including executives.
- Familiarity with event technology platforms (registration, mobile apps, lead scanning, CRM, or similar) is a plus, not a requirement.
- Ability to learn a complex ecosystem quickly, ask the right questions about data, and communicate findings clearly.
