About the Role
In the role of Industrial Electrician working in Toronto, Ontario, you will be part of the skilled trades team. You will work a rotating shift schedule, spending 2 weeks on days (6 AM to 2 PM), 2 weeks on afternoons (2 PM to 10 PM), and 2 weeks on nights (10 PM to 6 AM).
Responsibilities
- Following all Good Manufacturing Practice and Safety requirements
- Providing operational support of plant equipment, including testing, troubleshooting, adjustment, preventative maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment and components
- Troubleshooting and interpreting automation programming in PLC Ladder Logic, Sequential Function Charts, and Structured Text, within the Rockwell Automation platform
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- Installing electrical equipment and components consistent with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, including conduit bending, cable installation, and lighting installation
- Participating in Initial Problem Solving (IPS) and Breakdown Elimination (BDE) initiatives
- Participating in housekeeping and safety initiatives
- Entering, completing, and monitoring work notifications and work orders, including tracking of parts and materials required for tasks
Requirements
- Must have, at minimum, an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Canadian Adult Education Credential
- Must have an active 309A Electrician – Construction and Maintenance or 442A Industrial Electrician Certificate of Qualification
- Able to work rotating shifts (Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends)
- General computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System is an asset
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with the Rockwell Automation hardware and software is an asset
- Experience in Packaging or Brewing/Beverage industry is an asset
