About the Role
At Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects, you will help develop and deliver infrastructure projects, transforming how capital projects are planned, managed, and executed to build a better future. You will work alongside experienced professionals blending real-world experience with digital innovation and AI.
Responsibilities
- Provide inspection and quality assurance on highway and roadway construction projects.
- Determine if completed work follows plans and specifications.
- Coordinate work with the contractor and various public utilities agencies.
- Maintain project records and reports.
- Coordinate directly with the general contractor and negotiate change orders.
- Assist in inspections to assure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and special provisions on all phases of structural construction.
- Make or support grade, alignment, quantity, falsework, and shoring calculations.
- Assist in the preparation of contract change orders, contract estimates, progress pay estimates, and other required project documents.
- Coordinate the sampling and testing of construction materials to monitor compliance with contract specifications.
- Monitor and track contractor progress, preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Coordinate with the project team and Construction Staking and Material Testing CMCs.
Requirements
- Must be a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California.
- Minimum 1 construction highway project for or on Caltrans.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience conducting roadway and highway construction inspection in major public works projects.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with stress analysis, structural mechanics, and strength of materials.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with physical characteristics and properties of various roadway and bridge construction materials including concrete and steel.
Skills
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to perform duties in the construction field office and effectively make decisions concerning construction work in progress and solving field problems.
- Ability to direct the efforts of subordinate inspectors.
- Expertise in toll road projects including tolling systems.
- Experience working with Caltrans District 4 Highway.
