About the Role
Responsible for providing design expertise to the Communications Department by executing production, design, and print projects, and website design content. This role ensures deadlines are met, maintains departmental filing systems, and acts as a liaison between Communications and Client Departments or print vendors. The Digital Designer will procure print job quotes, oversee press runs, and work closely with the Director to ensure accurate brand representation. The Designer will also maintain content updates to the GISD website and is familiar with photography and videography.
Responsibilities
- Creates compelling designs for marketing collateral including data sheets, brochures, flyers and website.
- Collaborates with Learning and Development team to create and update organizational eLearnings.
- Manages email marketing for VIP rewards program participants.
- Oversees photography, videography and audio recordings.
- Produces advertising email and digital campaigns aimed at driving brand awareness and engagement.
- Manages all print production and delivery, including the supervision of press runs.
- Reviews invoices and contracts for print jobs.
- Researches new vendors, competitively bids projects and negotiates pricing and qualities needed.
- Acts as a liaison between vendors and internal purchasing department.
- Supervises project orders, including purchasing and tracking.
- Creates, schedules, coordinates, and reports the progress of Marketing and Communications projects.
- Collaborates with the Social Media Designer to ensure cohesive marketing campaigns.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years of experience in graphic arts, print production, and website maintenance.
- Knowledge of digital and offset print manufacturing, with pre-press and finishing processes knowledge (i.e. file prep, press quality/color checks, scoring/folding).
- Must have a high level of interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take on multiple tasks.
- Ability to read and understand written sales orders/quotes, sample sheets and proofs.
- Must have a valid CA driver’s license, proof of insurance and driving record acceptable by Goodwill’s insurance company.
