About the Role

The Assistant Superintendent leads, directs, and coordinates the work of subcontractors and trade labor to ensure safety, schedule delivery, quality, and budget adherence. This role involves supervising Field Engineers and interns while managing field operations and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee performance related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control, and staffing levels.
• Coordinate work among assigned trades to ensure efficient project operations.
• Resolve local area problems regarding procedures, design clarifications, labor, equipment, and scheduling.
• Manage the site safety program and ensure subcontractor compliance with standards and regulations.
• Supervise and develop Field Engineers and interns, including performance appraisals.
• Create schedules, determine work sequencing, and implement recovery strategies.
• Communicate with owners, architects, and engineers to resolve field issues.
• Manage billing processes, including work-in-place estimates, payroll, invoices, and payment applications.
• Maintain knowledge of contracts, drawings, specifications, and local codes.
• Ensure work installation conforms to approved contract documents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and negotiate construction work areas.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
