About the Role
As CNC Operators at S&C Electric Canada, you will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations within our machine shop function. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity, and must meet requirements within predetermined time constraints. Tasks require the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion.
Responsibilities
- Operate various manual and CNC machines to fabricate parts according to standard specifications.
- Set up machines with the appropriate tools and materials according to standard specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and other technical specifications to understand fabrication requirements.
- Perform basic routine maintenance on machines and tools, including cleaning and reporting issues.
- Utilize an overhead crane and other material handling equipment to safely position materials for machining.
- Complete first piece inspection of parts using various measurement tools.
- Maintain accurate records of fabrication activities.
- Deburr metal parts using hand and/or power tools.
- Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
Requirements
- 1+ year of demonstrated experience with the set-up and operation of manual and computer-controlled Verticals, Mills, Lathes, Presses, Drills, other Machine Shop type of equipment.
- Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as scales and calipers.
- Good knowledge of machine controls and programs with the ability to setup machines to operate new jobs to specific specifications.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to work independently and meet requirements of assigned materials requests.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities, weights, and measurements.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability and willingness to follow Health Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team.

- $27.50-$32.50 per hour
- $1 shift premium per hour for the afternoon shift
