About the Role

This role puts you at the heart of the guest experience, working closely with a team to help guests find the perfect pairing for any occasion, from local craft beers to premium wines and specialty spirits. You will provide friendly, knowledgeable service that makes shopping enjoyable and easy.

Responsibilities

  • Help guests find what they’re looking for, offer recommendations, and take special orders.
  • Answer questions, resolve concerns, and ensure every guest leaves feeling supported.
  • Work alongside associates and leadership to meet department goals and maintain high standards.
  • Maintain inventory levels, ensure accurate pricing, and keep shelves stocked and organized.
  • Check out purchases with accuracy and a smile.
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.
  • Work with vendors, managers, and fellow associates to exceed expectations.
  • Maintain regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and provide adequate notice for occasional absences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age to sample products sold in the wine and spirits department.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
  • Ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards.
  • Proper training and knowledge of hand jack, baler, forklift, pallet jack, trash compactor, proper lifting techniques, and proper scanning techniques.
  • Ability to stand in place for long periods of time; walk in the store; bend, stoop and kneel regularly.
  • Requires fine finger and broad manual dexterity, and eye-hand-foot coordination in order to operate equipment.
  • Requires full range of upper body motion in order to occasionally lift stock.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
  • Functional sensory abilities to visually monitor the store, create attractive displays, and operate equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
