About the Role
Hitachi Rail is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Cleaning Operative to join their team at the Bounds Green Train Maintenance Centre in London. This permanent night position involves cleaning rolling stock vehicles and facilities to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Clean Hitachi Rail customers rolling stock vehicles and/or TMC facilities to the highest possible standard in accordance with cleaning manuals.
- Undertake general duties of varying complexity based on requirements.
- Carry out work within an agreed timeframe.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest possible standard.
- Complete all relevant records associated with work responsibilities.
- Maintain awareness of Health & Safety requirements and attend relevant training courses.
- Complete and participate in Hitachi Rail centrally driven activities.
- Adhere to Hitachi Rail Europe’s policies and procedures.
- Comply with and implement Hitachi Rail Health and Safety policy.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as per business requirement.
Requirements
- Pass a local track safety test.
- Pass a drink and drugs test.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new things and take pride in work.
- Possess a good understanding of English with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Commitment to working as part of a team in a respectful and professional manner.
- Understanding of Health and Safety requirements of a working environment.
- Awareness of and ability to actively promote and implement Hitachi’s ethos, culture and values.
