About the Role
Deciphera is seeking an experienced Territory Manager to build customer partnerships and support the anticipated launch of tirabrutinib, a BTK inhibitor for patients with relapsed or refractory primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL). This role involves developing territory business plans, building customer relationships, and educating on PCNSL and tirabrutinib's clinical profile to ensure patient access.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic territory business plan aligned to brand objectives and tailored to customer needs.
- Build strong relationships with hematology/oncology healthcare professionals and key accounts.
- Communicate the clinical profile of tirabrutinib and present pivotal trial data.
- Address clinical and non-clinical barriers with customers involved in hematology patient care.
- Build, maintain, and apply deep clinical and business expertise related to PCNSL and the treatment landscape.
- Identify territory opportunities and barriers to patient access, synthesize market insights, and inform territory execution.
- Develop account and prescriber action plans with clear objectives, using data and analytics to assess trends.
- Collaborate effectively with internal partners including Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Commercial Operations.
- Provide field feedback and contribute to the development of resources and tools that support launch execution.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of the patient journey, treatment landscape, and access/reimbursement considerations.
- Use CRM and other available tools to support effective territory planning and customer engagement.
- Execute all activities in a compliant, ethical, and patient-focused manner.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in business, life sciences, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience.
- 5+ years of direct sales experience in malignant hematology.
- Experience in rare disease and/or oral oncolytic markets is strongly preferred.
- Candidate must reside within the assigned territory (Northern and Central California).
- Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex clinical information and pivotal data.
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with key customers and treatment centers.
- Strong understanding of the sales process, including patient identification, clinical conviction, access and reimbursement considerations, and distribution dynamics.
- Strong business acumen and ability to use data, analytics, and market insights.
- Experience working cross-functionally with partners such as Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Sales Operations.
- Launch experience in specialty, oncology, hematology, or other complex markets is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze business needs, apply market insights, and execute effectively.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to change, manage competing priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced launch environment.
- Must consistently act with high ethical standards and maintain a strong commitment to compliance.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
