About the Role
This position is responsible for the accurate and timely testing of consumer products, reporting data, and writing technical reports.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, conducts, and investigates laboratory testing of consumer products utilizing laboratory bench principles.
- Performs and evaluates analytical chemistry data using prescribed testing methods and instrumentation.
- Maintains test equipment, supplies, lab cleanliness, and limited analytical instrumentation.
- Accesses the latest revisions of standards, protocols, and test methods with direction.
- Evaluates products for quality/safety issues with direction from senior staff.
- Organizes and manages workload to meet or exceed laboratory turn around time and client expectations.
- Assists in the technical and administrative aspects of departmental projects as directed.
- Compiles data and prepares/reviews written technical reports.
- Interfaces with senior staff for direction on compliance and standards interpretations.
- Identifies and troubleshoots technical issues within a limited scope with direction.
- Adheres to the requirements of the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services Quality System.
- Provides feedback to the department manager regarding departmental systems, processes, and recommendations for improvements.
- Follows guidelines set forth in the Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Complies with Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc management systems in accordance with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
- Performs other duties as defined by Manager, department needs and workload.
- Evaluates test results data with direction.
- Interprets and applies industry standards within a limited scope and with direction.
- Offers problem resolution for client issues/questions to enhance client satisfaction.
- Conducts verbal and written communications with internal clients regarding administrative and technical issues, with direction.
- Participates with senior staff in client meetings/visits when appropriate.
- Consults with other technicians/engineers on various issues, seeking direction as needed.
- Writes, trains, implements, and updates lab procedures with direction from senior staff.
