About the Role

The Custody Associate processes securities trades, settlements, and custody-related transactions, ensuring alignment with bank procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer instructions and compare against Central Depositories' settlement systems.
  • Report unusual activities, special cases, or disputes to supervisors.
  • Perform accurate daily reconciliations of securities holdings, corporate actions, tax withholding, and customer reports.
  • Review customer entitlements prior to crediting accounts with corporate action funds or securities.
  • Prepare daily and monthly customer reports.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports for clients and management.
  • Prepare timely customer invoices for payments due.
  • Prepare counterparty and issue lists for OFAC screening.
  • Update procedures to reflect current workflows and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with bank procedures, policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Escalate suspicious transactions to the Legal Compliance Department.
  • Respond to internal audit requests and assist in remediating findings.
  • Provide timely responses to inquiries from head office internal and external auditors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or economics.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in securities industry back-office or client service roles.
  • Knowledge of the securities industry.
