About the Role
Comcast Technology and Product Experience (TPX) is seeking an experienced Android Developer to join the Connected Living Camera Client Engineering team. This group is responsible for customer-facing mobile application development for Comcast’s Home Security Camera product offerings, including the native iOS and Android Xfinity application. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building user-facing features, working with video technology, and contributing to scalable mobile architectures.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Android features for camera and video experiences
- Collaborate with product, backend, and device teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Contribute to app architecture, design discussions, and technical decisions
- Write clean, maintainable Kotlin code using modern Android frameworks
- Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience
- Debug and resolve production issues
- Participate in code reviews and support a culture of continuous improvement
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional Android development experience
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with MVVM or similar architecture patterns
- Solid debugging and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Experience with video playback or streaming (e.g., ExoPlayer, HLS, WebRTC, RTSP)
- Familiarity with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development tools
- Understanding of Android permissions, privacy, and app lifecycle
- Experience building or maintaining large-scale consumer applications
