About the Role
As a Patient Care Assistant, you will support team members in daily activities to ensure patients receive prompt and efficient customer service. You will play a key role in delivering interconnected, accessible, and patient-centered care, supported by a team of over 9,000 regulated health professionals and other professionals. Your mission will be to help our patients achieve better health at home, with support for professional development, personal well-being, and work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support services to care coordinators.
- Process service requests for new patients and orders for services, supplies, and equipment.
- Process and assist in managing confidential patient records.
- Enter, update, and maintain a high volume of patient data in the electronic database.
- Respond by phone to a high volume of inquiries from patients, families, and service providers, and redirect calls as needed.
- Provide relief support for other positions as required.
Requirements
- College diploma in health or social services, office or business administration.
- At least two years of relevant office work experience (an asset).
- Ability to accurately type data.
- Proficiency in database software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and other applications in a Windows environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong ability to multitask and meet performance and service objectives.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team and demonstrate tact and sensitivity when interacting with patients from diverse cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong listening ability.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, e.g., days, evenings, and weekends, to meet organizational needs.
- Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy; all employees must provide proof of vaccination prior to starting.
