About the Role
This role is responsible for preparing and serving light lunchtime meals, managing food donations, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve light lunchtime meals of sandwiches and salad daily.
- Heat, plate, and serve donated prepared food items.
- Receive and inspect donated food items for expiration dates or spoilage.
- Maintain an inventory list and report shortages.
- Clean and restore the workstation and kitchen daily.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of food service or industrial kitchen experience.
- Must possess or be able to complete Westchester County's Food Service Certification course.
- Communicate in a polite and professional manner with all guests, volunteers, and fellow staff members.
- Exceptional time management skills and the ability to work independently in an often fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain flexible and adaptive to changing circumstances as it pertains to ingredient availability.
- Compassion, patience, and kindness are necessary.
