About the Role

The IT Operations Associate supports the delivery, maintenance, and optimization of LAN/WAN infrastructure and voice/data connectivity services at the WFP Country Office in Juba. This role ensures reliable, secure, and high-performance network services to facilitate business operations and emergency response activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of LAN/WAN infrastructure.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network connectivity issues across switching, routing, and wireless environments.
  • Deploy and support WAN and SDWAN solutions to enhance connectivity resilience and optimize bandwidth.
  • Manage internet connectivity services and coordinate with service providers.
  • Configure and manage IP addressing, VLANs, and network segmentation.
  • Administer voice systems including PBX and IVR solutions.
  • Manage network security infrastructure including Fortigate firewalls and VPN access.
  • Provide second-level technical support for network incidents following ITIL practices.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, network diagrams, and asset records.
  • Contribute to infrastructure upgrades, new deployments, and innovation initiatives.
  • Support procurement processes by developing technical specifications and evaluating supplier performance.
  • Travel to field offices to support infrastructure installation as required.
  • Support service providers and ensure adherence to IT service level agreements.
  • Design and maintain LAN, WLAN, and WAN networks following corporate SDWAN architecture.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and technical certificate in a relevant field.
  • At least six years of professional experience in IT and telecommunications.
  • Hands-on experience in LAN/WAN/network administration and connectivity management.
  • Experience in IT service delivery, user support, and infrastructure project implementation.
  • Cisco networking and security certifications.
  • VSAT, ITIL, Telephony, Radio Communication, Satellite telecommunication, and MS Windows certifications.
  • Fluency in oral and written English.
  • Open only to South Sudanese candidates.
