About the Role
We are looking for a commercially minded, entrepreneurial Sales Manager to join our New Shows development team. This team explores, validates, and builds new show concepts from the ground up, testing market viability, audience, and commercial opportunity before launch. As Sales Manager, you will own the commercial validation workstream for emerging show ideas, mapping new markets, building prospect databases, identifying buyer and exhibitor segments, developing sales channels, and testing market appetite through direct outreach.
Responsibilities
- Own the commercial validation workstream for new show concepts, using industry knowledge, network, and sales expertise to assess market opportunity.
- Identify, map, and build high-quality prospect universes across luxury travel, hospitality, and lifestyle sectors.
- Use existing relationships and market credibility to secure early conversations and gather commercial feedback.
- Develop and manage sales channels for emerging show concepts, building qualified pipelines to prove market depth, revenue potential, and audience demand.
- Pitch new concepts to senior decision-makers, tailoring the proposition based on market, segment, and commercial opportunity.
- Use data, insight, and direct market feedback to shape recommendations on concept progression.
- Collaborate with the Sales Executive to guide outreach, database development, lead qualification, follow-up, and pipeline management.
- Build and maintain relationships with key contacts across the luxury travel and hospitality landscape.
- Identify potential sponsorship, partnership, and commercial opportunities.
- Represent This is Beyond in senior industry conversations, meetings, and events, both in the UK and internationally.
- Collaborate with Brand, Marketing, Content, Operations, and senior leadership to ensure alignment of commercial proposition, audience strategy, and event concept.
- Manage data, pipeline, and reporting through CRM systems, ensuring accuracy and clear commercial evidence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in luxury travel, hospitality, events, or a closely connected commercial sales environment.
- At least 2 years of experience at Sales Manager level or equivalent.
- A strong existing network across the high-end travel, hospitality, and/or luxury lifestyle industries.
- Proven track record of building commercial pipelines, developing senior relationships, and converting opportunities into revenue.
- Strong market knowledge and the ability to quickly understand new sectors, identify commercial potential, and assess market depth.
- Confidence speaking to senior decision-makers, founders, owners, commercial leaders, travel designers, hoteliers, brand partners, and industry tastemakers.
- Experience using insight, feedback, and sales data to shape commercial strategy and support business decisions.
- A highly proactive, entrepreneurial approach, comfortable working with early-stage ideas, ambiguity, and a blank page.
- Excellent relationship-building, pitching, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and confidence managing databases, pipelines, forecasts, and reporting through CRM systems.
- The ability to manage and guide a Sales Executive, setting direction, sharing best practice, and helping elevate performance.
