About the Role

VHB is seeking an emerging Environmental Engineer or Geologist/Hydrogeologist for our National Site Investigation & Remediation practice. This role offers opportunities for personal and professional growth and making a positive impact.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support during field exploration and testing, including environmental media sample collection.
• Prepare and adhere to site-specific health and safety plans.
• Prepare clear and accurate documentation of field activities.
• Coordinate with laboratory and drilling subcontractors.
• Oversee and document subcontractor work.
• Review and communicate investigation findings to team members.
• Enter and manage environmental data in databases.
• Participate in environmental due diligence activities.
• Prepare technical reports, correspondence, notes, and memoranda.

Requirements

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Geology or Hydrogeology.
• 1-3 years of environmental or geoenvironmental consulting experience.
• OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required after 30 days of employment.

Skills

• Entry-level knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures in geoenvironmental consulting.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulatory processes.
• Familiarity with industry-standard software (e.g., EQuIS, GIS Systems and AutoCAD).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Team oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently and collaborate effectively.
• Ability to recognize and manage business risk.
• Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented.
• Ability to work in field and office settings.
