About the Role
The Truck Logistics Scheduler is responsible for coordinating driver schedules and routes, bridging communication between customers and drivers to ensure efficient, safe, and DOT-compliant deliveries. This role involves managing transport logistics, monitoring real-time inventory, and optimizing delivery schedules.
Responsibilities
- Oversee inventory of bulk plants and key customer locations, tracking tank percentages.
- Schedule driver and 3rd party carrier loads and plan efficient routes.
- Optimize supply contracts and transportation costs.
- Maintain contact with drivers for updates, issue resolution, and safety compliance.
- Manage orders, provide stakeholder updates, and address delivery issues.
- Ensure strict adherence to DOT regulations for hazardous materials.
- Generate freight bills, invoices, and maintain accurate delivery records.
- Adapt to workload changes due to weather, road conditions, and other factors.
- Maintain accurate records of supply contracts and performance.
- Collaborate with Fleet Department and Driver Supervisors on vehicle breakdowns and driver hours.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or applicable experience required.
- Minimum of three (3) year job related experience preferred.
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, or dispatch coordination.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Strong initiative with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable with computers and computer-operated systems, proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work under pressure in a self-directed environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and priority management skills, with adaptability to changing demands.
- Excellent customer service skills, including professional phone manners and email etiquette.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to rotate "on call" status during evenings and weekends.
