About the Role

Coughlin Kia is seeking career-minded Lube and Tire Technicians for their dealership. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career as a certified technician, with a comprehensive training program to help technicians achieve ASE and manufacturer certifications while earning top dollar.

Responsibilities

  • Lubricate all moving engine parts of vehicles.
  • Clean engine parts to remove grime and buildup, and apply lubricant.
  • Perform vehicle inspections, examining and testing multiple points of interest, and checking thoroughly for oil leaks and all fluid levels.
  • Check vehicle tires and test air pressure.
  • Drain existing oil from vehicles and replace it with new oil, ensuring the proper type of oil is used.
  • Perform filter replacement in engines, including air filters and oil filters.
  • Check electrical components on vehicles, such as testing the horn and the lights.
  • Make recommendations for further service on vehicles based on inspections.
  • Follow all company and common-sense safety practices.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver's License with a quality driving record.
  • Automobile repair experience.
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, and tools used in vehicle repair and maintenance.
  • Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system.
  • Ability to learn parts department computer inventory and ordering system.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
  • Regular and predictable attendance in-person at an automotive dealership.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations.
  • Ability to understand and follow technical manuals.

Equal Opportunity

  • The position requires regular and predictable attendance in-person at an automotive dealership.
  • Scheduled shifts are typically 5-days per week, rotating Saturdays, and may include holidays.
  • Service departments are closed on Sundays and only open until 6 p.m. during the week.
