About the Role
We are seeking an Analytics Engineer to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and scalability of our marketing data and tracking ecosystem, initially focusing on the UK and expanding globally. This role bridges marketing, data, and engineering, ensuring all critical customer interactions are captured, enriched, and integrated into relevant platforms like Segment, BigQuery, ad platforms, and CRM tools. You will collaborate with marketing analytics, central data engineering, and cross-functional growth, CRM, and product teams, taking full end-to-end ownership of implementation, governance, data quality monitoring, and documentation to support global expansion and informed marketing decisions.
Responsibilities
- Manage marketing event tracking across web and app surfaces using Google Tag Manager and Segment.
- Configure and manage integrations with key ad platforms including Meta, Google Ads, and TikTok.
- Debug tracking issues using browser developer tools, network requests, and tag inspection tools.
- Partner with engineering on server-side tracking and event ingestion.
- Own marketing-relevant event schemas within Segment, including naming conventions, parameter structures, and destination mappings.
- Ensure clean and reliable data pipelines into downstream tools such as BigQuery, ad platforms, and CRM.
- Collaborate with the central data team to standardize event protocols and governance frameworks for international market expansion.
- Support the codification of Segment configurations to streamline international market launches.
- Monitor and validate data accuracy across marketing pixels and event streams.
- Build automated checks for missing or duplicated events, schema drift, and anomalies.
- Investigate discrepancies across platforms like Meta, internal warehouses, and Google Analytics.
- Maintain documentation for tracking plans and expected behaviors.
- Implement enhanced conversions, hashed PII, and server-side conversion APIs to improve signal quality for bidding algorithms.
- Ensure optimal data flow into performance marketing tools by working closely with marketing teams.
- Support attribution, incrementality, and MMM initiatives with high-quality input data.
- Ensure tracking fires correctly based on user consent, adhering to GDPR and ePrivacy regulations.
- Manage consent management tools to maintain compliant tracking configurations.
- Audit tracking setups for compliance risks, especially during expansion into new jurisdictions.
- Build dashboards and alerts to monitor tracking health and data quality.
- Provide marketing stakeholders with reliable and trusted reporting on data underpinning their decisions.
Requirements

- Strong hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager (web and server-side).
- Experience with Segment or a comparable Customer Data Platform (CDP), including schema management, destination configuration, and event governance.
- Solid SQL skills, preferably in BigQuery, for validating and interrogating tracking data.

- Understanding of marketing pixels across Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, and equivalent platforms.
