About the Role

Responsibilities

• Generate better design alternatives and provide solutions to design-related problems.
• Develop and produce CAD and BIM drawing packages for design reviews, tender processes, and execution.
• Produce sketch plans, concept designs, space plans, and design documentation.
• Monitor design intent progression on site.
• Attend client meetings and site visits as the primary design interface.
• Supervise the production of finished boards for client presentations.
• Render plans and elevations to convey design concepts to clients.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality professional services.
• Lead design critiques and represent the company at design forums.
• Guide, advise, mentor, and coordinate other designers and professionals.
• Meet suppliers and educate the design team on new materials, brands, and special treatments.
• Select, schedule, and conceptualize FF&E, color, and materials for client presentations and space planning.
• Review drawings, mock-ups, material, and finished samples submitted by project contractors.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design.
• At least 3 years of experience in workplace projects.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and other 3D computer design programs.
• Experience in a Design & Build background is advantageous.
• Proven project experience and ability to deliver medium to large-scale workplace projects.
• Experience in design documentation, technical drawing, and interior package documentation for workplace fit-outs, including joinery documentation.
• Client-facing experience is preferred.
• Strong planning abilities.
• Ability to develop design concepts.
• Knowledge of furniture and finishes, planning codes, and budgets.
• Effective judgment skills within constrained time scales and resources.
• Strong communication skills, preferably in English.
• Flair for dealing with clients and making design presentations.
• Ability to handle teams and interact with all levels of staff in other disciplines.
