Responsibilities
- Generate better design alternatives and provide solutions to design-related problems.
- Develop and produce CAD and BIM drawing packages for design reviews, tender processes, and execution.
- Produce sketch plans, concept designs, space plans, and design documentation.
- Monitor design intent progression on site.
- Attend client meetings and site visits as the primary design interface.
- Supervise the production of finished boards for client presentations.
- Render plans and elevations to convey design concepts to clients.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality professional services.
- Lead design critiques and represent the company at design forums.
- Guide, advise, mentor, and coordinate other designers and professionals.
- Meet suppliers and educate the design team on new materials, brands, and special treatments.
- Select, schedule, and conceptualize FF&E, color, and materials for client presentations and space planning.
- Review drawings, mock-ups, material, and finished samples submitted by project contractors.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of design.
- At least 3 years of experience in workplace projects.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and other 3D computer design programs.
- Experience in a Design & Build background is advantageous.
- Proven project experience and ability to deliver medium to large-scale workplace projects.
- Experience in design documentation, technical drawing, and interior package documentation for workplace fit-outs, including joinery documentation.
- Client-facing experience is preferred.
- Strong planning abilities.
- Ability to develop design concepts.
- Knowledge of furniture and finishes, planning codes, and budgets.
- Effective judgment skills within constrained time scales and resources.
- Strong communication skills, preferably in English.
- Flair for dealing with clients and making design presentations.
- Ability to handle teams and interact with all levels of staff in other disciplines.
