About the Role

Own and drive the financial risk agenda across the Trust & Securities Services (TSS) franchise, focusing on shaping the future of risk management in Custody and Clearing businesses. Act as the senior authority on credit, settlement, and liquidity risks, influencing decisions impacting global clients and the balance sheet. Translate client structures, settlement mechanics, and legal frameworks into smarter limits, stronger controls, and dynamic risk analytics. Elevate risk capability, mentor talent, and partner with senior stakeholders to deliver commercially sharp, well-governed outcomes. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role with the scope to shape financial risk management across a global, growing franchise.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial risk management across TSS Custody & Clearing, identifying material credit, settlement and liquidity risks and driving timely mitigation.
  • Serve as the escalation point for transaction-related exposures, providing clear risk judgement and recommendations.
  • Design and enhance risk frameworks, policies and metrics to support monitoring and informed decision-making.
  • Oversee client credit risk, including limit setting, exposure analysis, legal structures and settlement behaviour.
  • Provide senior risk input into new business, complex transactions and client onboarding.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members, strengthening risk capability and consistency.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in financial risk management within a banking environment, with senior accountability for credit, settlement or liquidity risk.
  • Strong understanding of post-trade processes, custody and clearing risk drivers, and client/account structures.
  • Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and present clear, data-driven risk assessments.
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo and delivering timely, pragmatic solutions.
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
  • Professional qualifications (e.g., CFA, FRM, CA, MBA) welcome but not essential.
