About the Role

HSBC is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as Manager, Product and Control (GCB 5/VP). This role involves reviewing and overseeing various financial control functions for Global Markets, including transaction monitoring, financial controlling, front-to-back-balancing controls, pricing, price verification, and analysis. The position requires ensuring Global Market transactions are appropriately monitored, investigated, and reported, while minimizing the risk of non-compliance with Group and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily/monthly P&L reports for Global Markets, including analytical review of P&L components/drivers.
  • Validate the fair value of portfolios/transactions calculated by primary trading systems.
  • Review dealer estimate vs actual P&L reconciliation.
  • Prepare month-end fair value adjustments and other adjustments.
  • Perform daily Pricing-End-of-Day (EOD) for complex derivatives.
  • Manage and validate market data for accurate revaluation and yield curve construction, and independent price verification.
  • Perform market data vendor pricing source review and assess boundary observability.
  • Manage new discounting curve, product mapping, and exception controls.
  • Oversee PC outsourcing tasks.
  • Manage manual entries system approval controls.
  • Review daily/monthly FX and MKTY benchmark monitoring reports for Global Markets, including reviews on exceptions and FO explanation.
  • Review Hedging MI reporting and oversee hedge activities.
  • Support PC related projects and ad hoc tasks.

Requirements

  • Well-versed in market risk factors and Global Markets products.
  • Strong knowledge of Derivatives valuation, including structured products and complex derivatives, market data control, and price verification processes.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical skills are mandatory.
  • More than 8 years of working experience in Global Markets, including Product Control, GM Operation, or Finance.
  • Leadership experience to manage team members.
  • Strong communication skills in both Korean and English.
